Tremron Construction in Corralitos, CA | Brookside Contractors

We’re Brookside Contractors, and we install and service Tremron paver and wall systems across Corralitos and the Santa Cruz Mountains, including Tremron in Watsonville. We’re an independent contractor – not manufacturer-affiliated or authorized – which means our recommendations come from actual installs on sloped rural lots, not a sales script. On a Corralitos hillside, the difference between a Tremron driveway that lasts twenty years and one that needs re-leveling in three is almost always drainage, and that’s where most of our Tremron callouts start. If you’re planning a paver driveway, patio, or retaining wall in Corralitos, call (833) 725-3508 and we’ll take a look at the site before any material gets ordered.

Why Corralitos Residents Choose Us for Tremron Service

Tremron products are built well, but no paver performs on its spec sheet. What matters is how the base, the slope drainage, and the edge restraint get handled, and that’s where Corralitos lots fight back more than most. Corralitos is unincorporated Santa Cruz County – wells, septics, fire corridors, and hillside grading all live in the same permit set. Nate Burrell, our General Contractor in Corralitos, grew up watching local crews cut corners and come back to fix the same wall twice. He trained in construction technology at Gavilan College and has spent the better part of two decades working South Santa Clara County and the mountain communities around Corralitos. We match the material to the project, not the other way around. If Tremron is the right paver for your slope, we’ll tell you why and build it accordingly. If it isn’t, we’ll say that too.

Our scope runs broad: kitchens, baths, roofing, windows, fencing, hardscaping, and ADUs under one license. That matters for Tremron work because retaining walls and driveways rarely live in a vacuum. A new driveway might mean a new drainage swale, and a retaining wall might need to talk to a deck rebuild. One contractor, every phase.

Common Tremron Construction Problems We Solve in Corralitos

  • Efflorescence on Old Town pavers after wet winters. Corralitos gets real winter rainfall, and groundwater moves through hillside soils toward the valley. When water saturates the paver bedding and wicks back out through the surface, it leaves calcium bloom – that white chalky haze on Tremron Old Town pavers. It’s cosmetic but persistent where drainage sheet-flows across a driveway instead of being collected. We’ve cleaned it off and, more importantly, fixed the drainage so it doesn’t return.
  • Washed-out joint sand on sloped driveways. A steep driveway in Corralitos sheds water fast. If the edge restraint fails or the cross-slope isn’t pitched correctly, rainwater channels between pavers and flushes joint sand downhill. You’ll see it collect in puddles, then voids between units, then shifting. On a Larkin Valley Drive parcel we tore out a Tremron Old Town driveway where the base had never accounted for slope drainage. Over-excavated, recompacted, added an uphill drainage channel, new edge restraint, re-sanded. It sheds winter runoff now instead of holding it.
  • Moss and algae on shaded, foggy paver patios. Corralitos sits in the coastal fog belt, and under tree canopy the pavers never fully dry from spring through early fall. Moss and algae build up in the low spots first. It’s organic staining, not a Tremron manufacturing defect, but it needs the right cleaner plus drainage correction – sealing alone won’t stop it if water stands in the same spot every morning.
  • Settlement and rutting over clay-heavy soil. Large parts of the Pajaro Valley side of Corralitos have clay soils that swell in winter and shrink in summer. A paver driveway laid over an under-compacted base on that soil will settle and rut within a couple of rainy seasons. The fix is deeper over-excavation and proper geotextile and compaction for slope – not another layer of sand.
  • Retaining wall base creep on St. Croix systems. Tremron’s St. Croix retaining wall blocks are a solid system, but they depend on a level compacted base and clean drainage behind the wall. On hillside lots where groundwater is moving through the slope, a wall without adequate behind-wall drainage and a solid key needs rebuilding sooner than it should. We see the lowest course kick out first when the base wasn’t done right.

Tremron Service in Corralitos: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the thing the product brochures don’t tell you. Corralitos is unincorporated Santa Cruz County, which means a new Tremron driveway or a substantial paver patio routes through county permitting, not a city building department. And because significant portions of the Corralitos/Larkin Valley corridor sit in wildland-urban interface fire territory, grading plans and defensible-space clearing often get reviewed together. Put those two pieces together: you’re not just paying for pavers, you’re paying for a drainage and grading solution that has to pass a WUI-conscious county reviewer who’s seen plenty of under-built hillside driveways fail. Walk through any neighborhood off Eureka Canyon Road after two wet winters, and you’ll spot the ones that didn’t go through that process. We pull permits on Tremron work, coordinate the defensible-space and drainage details as part of the same scope, and don’t leave you to sort out a county correction notice on your own.

Tremron Models & Products We Service in Corralitos

Most of our Tremron work in Corralitos involves the Old Town and Mega Old Town paver lines for driveways and patios, plus the St. Croix retaining wall system and Westminster or Cambridge wall units for slope terracing and planter retention. That’s the good news about Tremron: their common unit profiles have been produced long enough that matching a repair is usually straightforward. We use genuine Tremron units for patching so the dimensional pattern and color lot match the surrounding field. If a color lot isn’t available anymore, we cull units from an inconspicuous area of the same field and relocate them to the repair zone. We’d rather do that than hand you a patch that looks like a patch. For full replacements, we order directly through our Tremron sales & service channel relationships and will walk you through paver profile options before you commit.

Tremron Service Pricing in Corralitos

Corralitos Tremron work costs what it costs because of slope, drainage, and the county. Here are the ranges we typically see:

Service Typical Range (Corralitos/Morgan Hill market)
Paver Driveway Installation $7,000 – $18,000
Paver Patio Installation $3,500 – $11,000
Driveway Replacement $5,000 – $14,000

What moves the number: slope, existing drainage, base depth, whether we’re doing retaining work alongside the pavers, and whether the county wants defensible-space clearing in the same permit. A free estimate includes a site walk, a look at how water currently moves across the lot, and a written line-item quote with no change orders once we’ve started. Call (833) 725-3508 and we’ll come look at your slope before you spend a dollar on base rock.
